All About Pocket Knives

Picked up two of these, new in boxes.

I cannot find anything on Buck's web site about this exact knife - Buck Auto #838 2025 Limited Edition.

The 838 is there, but I don't find one in this exact handle finish. It also seems that the 838 on Buck's site has a different blade shape and handle shape as compared to this one.

Does the 2025 Limited Edition make it any scarcer or more desirable?

I can’t find any info on it either but I believe that the Annual Limited Edition knives are only available during the year they were made.

With that in mind, I remember seeing the 2022 Limited Edition Saunters available at dealers for a few months into 2023 so I’m not really sure how that works.

My guess (and it’s only a guess) is that your model sold out recently and Buck decided not to make more because it’s so close to the end of 2025. That might explain why we can’t find them on the website.

Buck doesn’t state how many were made each year but they do stop making the Annuals so somebody knows the final run size.

Here is the Saunter that I mentioned. It has a similar blade etch and was “supposed to be” only available in 2022.
