Help with repairing an old pocket knife

Hello,
I've had this little pocket knife for a while, and it worked great, although it was a bit rusty. The other day, I tried one of those internet methods to remove rust, which sort of worked, but it also snapped two small pieces on the bottom. This prevented the knife and the bottle opener from fully spinning.
After opening it up and cleaning out enough dirt to see what was going on, I discovered that the two remaining pieces were actually held in place by a nail-like thing, but I’m unsure about the other two pieces.
Should I just use super glue? Any advice would be appreciated!

Looks like the springs broke, so it is not going to be fixable without replacing that. Super glue has no use in fixing a broken metal part. This is what is called a shell handle knife with the bolster/covers held on the knife by small tabs on the ends. What was the rust removal method that you used?

Does the knife have sentimental value for you? If not and you like it, it should be easily replaced. Many identical to it sell on eBay every day, typically for low prices.
It will cost more to restore it than it is worth. JMO
You might find this depiction of the construction of a typical pocket knife useful, although yours is a bit different.

I have many of these in my parts pile. I can likely help you out with a spring and a new scale. There was a few different sizes, what's the closed length on yours?
Edit: on the top down picture i see that you have the scale, just removed in the other picture.

I don’t think adhesives are going to solve your problems but my FIL could fix just about anything with rubber cement.
