: A fine old Queen trapper with Winterbottom handles, not a "Sunday go to meeting knife" and not a workday knife but one that accompanys me regularly on trips into town.

Gotta get a plug in for Camillus ! This old arch / 3 line stamp trapper is a fav here . At about 110 years old the snap ,bones , blades and 1/2 stops are pretty darn good yet. Lot better than my 67 year old bones are ! It amazes me how well the old cutlery stuff was built and if properly taken care of lasts so long . It stays mainly around the house w/ an occasional outing in town . The main is etched “ CAMILLUS” which am told rare or really hard to find .

Hey old friend ,hope you’re doing well over there . Bought this one from Roger C . ( peanut ) . One of our forum knife collectors and very knowledgeable seller of older knives. He’s always treated me and others right and knows his stuff when it comes to knives.

Such a nice knife - love those old really pronounced swedge grinds ! Too bad nobody (that I know of) does anything that approaches that kind of extreme swedge with super forward positioned nail nick anymore ... its so distinctive looking. They got it right way back then ...

I found this thread a day late. Will have to wait until next week to show off what's become a favorite pattern of mine.

The swedge on your camillus is pretty cool. Really evident in the pile side shot. Looks like it's cut further back than most and on a blade with more curve than alot of clip points have. I'm also noticing it's resting on another nice one

I'll echo the rest of the chorus singing the praises of that beautiful barehead Camillus. That one has caught my eye in previous posts and I've commented on how cool and desirable it is (specifically to me....I want it!

) Love the bone, the blank oval shield, the swage and the nick placement. Looks like my preferred size, too: <4". It's a fabulous vintage knife that's truly got it all, the complete package

I realize I'm a day late to the Tuesday Trapper party this week, but unlike Zach who is observing proper protocol and waiting to post his until next Tuesday, I am going to 100% break protocol and unapologetically post mine today
