Keen Kutter #16 Congress handle patch

So I recently had a viewer of my channel ask me why I didn't patch a broken handle with another piece of bone. .My first response was "Because that's not how you are supposed to do it."
But that got me to thinking (a very dangerous thing for me!), "Why not try it?". Trust me, I have done dumber things.
So I took a chip of bone from a broken Remington scale, cut it out with a Dremel, and glued it into place.
The color was a touch different, so I dyed the handles a couple of times with Potassium Permanganate.
You can see that it was broken, but it still looks better to me than a normal patch.
What say you?

Nice work Reverand! As I think you know, I've patched quite a few knife handles that came to me with broken or missing pieces or chunks of bone. The repair that you just displayed in your picture looks like you did an excellent job! ::tu::

Looks good! I've done a few patches, but for whatever reason, I really don't like doing them.
