Keep your eye open for The Pocketknife Trader's Price Guide. Vol 8 is the latest. In the meantime, check out this one.

Again, I'm open to correction, but

I think this one is a 1st gen. The tobacco leaf shield is pointier with a longer stem anyway. Does anyone else think this is a real 1st gen knife?

Yes you are correct. This is a true 1st generation Bulldog. The shield and the stag are both good indicators of the 1st generation. The normal knockoff of this knife has european stag and a blunt shield.
The older pocketknife traders guides are in my opinion better indicators of the bulldogs. Volume 3 & 5 are good ones. Also Tony Foster compiled a booklet on 1st generation bulldogs in 1990 that is excellent.
