All About Pocket Knives

This blade is only an inch and a half or so, it's a baby. I am interested in learning about these knives. What was the quality like on the Parker Cutlery Company knives?

I have one identical near mint. They are high quality, Seki made. Parker always had quality knives made.

Here are some recent photos of Parker knives that I’ve bought on eBay and represent excellent quality. The fit and finish on each one passes all my tests without any problem

I'm a fan of Parkers, especially the MIJ Cut Co versions. In my experience, fit and finish is a bit shy of Case's of the same era, but after some tuning up, they are fine knives. Have a few so far --->

Here is a Parker I bought probably 40 years ago. It got lost for about 10 years and found in a relatives couch. I carried if for about 5 years but know little to nothing about it. It appears to be of good quality.

Love its stag!

The stag is what drew me to the knife decades ago. Never truly cared for stag on a pocket knife because it was not very uniform and usually quite bulky and mismatched like the bottom knife in photo below. However this is slim, petite, well matched and has tons of character. As stated it was my main carry knife till I lost it. I have lost or broken literally dozens of knives in my life, but losing this one was rough. I searched for over a week looking for it in every town i had been in and every job site I had worked at with no luck. Then a relative was moving furniture in her living room and it fell out of the cushions.

Those are some sharp knives guys. I may try to eventually buy me another one. I'm glad that they are good knives. I really like mine.

When I was selling at gun shows back in the early 1980s, I was a Parker dealer and they were good sellers. What I have left now are shown below. Interesting how the markings changed over that time. They had some real nice bone on them and the bone handled lock blades were a big seller along with the boot knives.

Hindsight is most always 20/20. Wish I had stocked up on those "cheap Japanese junk knives" back in the day. I realized then that they weren't junk but never figured the prices would soar as much as they have. I didn't even figure many would survive this long .

I am a big Parker fan, they were very well made knives. Here is an old Trapper I was able to clean up a little.

Fantastic stag on that one ! Here's a couple Parker USA pen knives with really gnarly stag ...

Parker did have some beautiful stag handles and some really knice bone handles as well.
