Anyone understand the way the newer import fees work? If I buy a knife from Canada for $50 plus $10 shipping, how do I figure out what the import fees & delivery charges will be? I have read on it and can’t make heads or tails of it. Thanks for any help.

I have not read upon it, John so I really have no idea.
Can you add it to your cart to the point right before you click on “Pay Now” to see the grand total? Then remove it from your cart if you don’t like the results?

I don’t know. I was hoping to learn more before I was interested in something. We’re in the process of moving, so knife buying is rather slow. I appreciate the response thank you sir.

To determine tariffs for a specific export, identify the Harmonized System (HS) code for the product and go here
https://www.tariffinder.ca/en/getStarted to find the applicable rate which will be subject to any applicable trade agreements.
I looked up pocket knife and found this:
I would ask the seller for an itemized bill so you know how much everything is but that’s just me, YMMV
There’s a whole other side of the coin when a Canadian purchases a US made knife for export but that was not the question in the OP so we’ll leave that topic for another day.
