Unwin & Rodgers Pistol Knife

I picked up these 2 oldies. One is pretty nice and still has some of the original balls that it would shoot. The other has a broken main blade but is still nice to have. I know these are pretty rare and can be pricey, any additional info is appreciated.

If you haven't yet, and you may already know this, slide a wooden dowel down the bore & mark a ring around the muzzle end then hold it against the outside of the barrel. It should be about 3/8 to 1/2" short of the overall length of the barrel. If it is more than that (3/4 to 1" short} it is very likely there is still a load in the bore.
Back in the day muzzleloaders, do the the length of time it took to load them, were usually loaded and left that way. This includes rifles and pistols and especially these little gems used for self defense. Too bad they can't talk, I am sure they would have quite the story to tell. I have run across more than a dozen or so muzzleloaders (some in gun shops unfamilar with them) that still had a load it them. Imagine the owners surprise when I handed it back and told them their "harmless" old antique was still loaded....
If you find it is still loaded take it to someone that can pull the ball and remove the powder. Regardless what your told do NOT allow someone to shoot it out & don't accept the response "don't worry it's so old it won't fire"!!!!
