All About Pocket Knives

Hello everyone, my name is Michael and I've just joined this site after being a "lurker" for a bit. I've got a question regarding some knives I recently purchaced at the Easton Knife Show this past Sept. I picked up a dozen assorted stilettos from a dealer, he said most of them came from deals he made with European collectors, and mainly from France. No name stamps, just the generic "INOX" and "Rostfrei" marks. On two of these blades, one of which is a "Corsica Vendetta" etched blade, the INOX stamp differs from others in that the letter "O" is squared corner, not round like a normal lettertype. Does anyone know if there is any signifigance to this, or just the typeset that was used in the 70's, as I assume this knife was made. I will try to post pics later but it's a basic 13" flat grind knife, nice horn scales but only one brass ear and swivel is un-lined so it can't be older than me! (Early 70's vintage)

Mike again.... went to look and I must clarify the square marked vendetta knife was a 9 inch, the 13 inch with the mark is un-etched. I am to understand the etch for these knives is done after production and may not have anything to do with the manufacturer (or manufactor, for that matter), more likely the distributor. Also, the etch is the later used VENDETTA lettering and the stylized Moor's head, not the cursive slogans of death and honor, the stuff seen in the 80's and later. This one looks like it settled a few vendettas; blade is full but scratched like hell. Still, it fits in with the collection. Thanks!
