What is this?

Hello friends,

I fancy myself a pretty good knife researcher when it comes to finding makers, models etc. I have a wide collection of books, I am always eager to learn more. I've been stumped. I cannot find maker's marks of this anywhere, dates, nothing.

Tang marked; RU-KO ,<over> SOLINGEN <over> GERMANY

Any insight would be appreciate.

I see a lot of reference to RUKO (Solingen) without the hyphen. You could try that.

Seems they were/are an importer/exporter/distributor, early on in Germany, then US and Canada, and today mostly Chinese knife and other wares...

"The Ruko brand was established in Germany around the time of World War II, with a German entity producing knives for the war effort, and later a separate entity, Ruko of Canada and RUKO LLC, began operations in North America around 1956."

It's certainly an attractive knife.

Thanks I saw the Buffalo Brand forum, but most of those blades on marked buffalo brand on the presentation side and RUKO on the reverse, im hesitant because of the hyphen really, tang stamps can change certainly but there is 0 info with a hyphen.
