All About Pocket Knives

This knife was sold to me via eBay as a German soldiers knife found in a Ukrainian barn. It was fairly cheap, so I decided to buy it just for the sake of history. Can anybody in the forum Please tell me where this tang stamp of a hot air balloon with two flags on either side comes from. And if it is even a German knife or an Eastern European knife. Any information would be helpful because I have found nothing online. Thanks everybody.

That’s just a quote he has as part of his signature line (on every post he makes it’s there), he was just being polite and linking your other post with replies on it for you to find easily. Not need to be coming in hot with accusations against people.

One of the best pieces of advise from Mr Levine is "buy the knife, not the story".

but..but..If the entertainment value of the story is worth the price then the knife is free!

At a gun show I told a potential buyer of my Mauser made WW II Luger that George Washington took it off a Hessian he'd just skewered with his sword. While his Contiental Army was holed up through the winter George had the local auto repair shop run his prize through their chrome plating tanks with a batch of bumpers. Asked for supporting documentation I told the man we could walk around the show and find multiple books on Lugers all of which would agree that Mauser did not plate WW II Lugers with any silver colored metal. It's not clear if the man bought the whole story or just the Luger but he carried it away with a smile.

I found the brand of the knife guys!!!! and I’m sorry about the Josey Wales thing guys, it’s not this place. I’ve just had to be a little defensive lately with some people at work …

It was a German tool company that operated from the late 19th century to 1951. Their factory was even taken out in 1944 by an Allied raid I read… I’m actually amazed that it was able to be identified. I appreciate y’all‘s help and interest in the subject. I also hope this can help somebody else who may have a knife or other tool made by these people. The only example I see right now at the moment on eBay is a pair of pliers and it’s actually overseas. Thanks again, everyone.
