All About Pocket Knives

This month we have one of the most special giveaways that I have witnessed in the 13 years that I have been a part of this knife community. Cindy Sorensen, the widow of Brian Sorensen (Ivoryman) has decided to honor her fallen husband by giving away his George Wostenholm whittler. As many of you know, Brian was a huge fan of all things ivory, especially genuine ivory like this knife which personifies the reason for his passion. In hand it is simply stunning.

The Elephant Ivory covers are without chips or cracks. The unsharpened and unused stainless-steel spear point and spey blades have no half stop and snap firmly when opened and locked and closes with zero side-to-side play when fully extended. The brass liners and stainless-steel frame and pins are in fine condition given the age of this knife.

The Sorensen family has asked me to help redistribute I-Man's knife collection to good homes that might want a knife or two with a heartfelt connection to Brian. I am honored to be asked to support the wishes of Brian's widow Cindy. Instructions for entering the giveaway...

Simply click here and select a number between 0 and 999.

You will have until September 30th (6:00 P.M. Eastern) to pick a number, after which entries will not be considered. The Illinois State Lottery evening pick-three drawing will determine the winner on September 30th. The individual closest to the selected number without going over will win. The Illinois lottery results can be found on the following website:

To be eligible to win, you must be 18 years of age and either (a) have made at least 100 total forum posts at the time of entering the monthly giveaway or (b) have previously donated successfully to at least one prior monthly knife giveaway.

Please ensure that your Board Preferences Miscellaneous Notifications are set to notify you via email when someone sends you a Private Message (PM) to ensure the time requirements below are met.

The first-place winner will be sent an AAPK PM after the drawing and will have three days to respond with contact and shipping information. If the first-place winner does not respond within three days, the knife will be offered to the next player on the list without going over.

The next-place winner will be sent an AAPK PM, and they will have one day to respond with contact and shipping information. If the next-place winner does not respond within one day, the knife will be offered in the same manner to the next player on the list without going over.

Beautiful knife!

I don’t know if records are kept for the number of legitimate entries in the monthly drawing, but if there are I bet this month will be a record.

#700 was drawn last night, that would have been on the money for Treefarmer (Philip) who I'm sure would have loved to have added this knife to his collection
