All About Pocket Knives

I have been spending WAY too much money on my knife collection lately! I have come to realize that I need to find a less expensive hobby than collecting knives! It has gotten out of control .... I think I found a NEW hobby that will be significantly cheaper than blowing all of my hard-earned pay on stupid knives!* Anyone one as frustrated as I am?

*Also.... my new collection might just take up less room than hundreds and hundreds of knives piled up everywhere!

Fewer counterfeits to worry about as well.

Good idea, so how many knives will it hold?

The town that I live in has a museum called The American Heritage Museum. They have a large collection of military vehicles, primarily tanks, many are very rare. Their collection started out because a wealthy private collector in California donated his HUGE collection of tanks. There were so many that the museum foundation was able to sell off the duplicates to raise money.

That is not that far from the truth!

You could start getting into war gaming miniatures... Tanks you can actually afford... I recommend Roco Minitanks, as they're a little bigger and cheap secondhand.


On that tangent...

A GEC and a cheap 3D printer cost about the same, so you might consider that. But be warned, you get what you pay for... Buddy of mine has a nice Bambu he's had zero problems with. Me, a Flashforge Adventurer 5M that consistently makes me want to pull my hair out. Seems every time I get it dialed in and making nice prints without much hassle, the display cable breaks or a part of the print (usually supports) falls off the bed and lands in a hard-to-reach spot and jams something up.

I've been meaning on 3D printing a few tanks and such (which at 1:100, is a little smaller than a Matchbox), and even downloaded a few files. However, that cheap POS Chinese Flashforge keeps having something break with parts that aren't off the shelf--especially the display cable. I'll replace the cable here soon , but else--I'm eventually buying a nicer printer.

I recently printed these two off before the display cable broke when the high-mounted display fell off yet again. My plans are to replace the cable and eventually display here pretty soon (display cable socket lock broke, and the 3D-printed replacement works a little too well--to the point of crimping it).

Both of these maybe cost a quarter total in filament--a Schleich horse at a farm supply store costs $10, and a true 1:64 truck close to ten bucks as well. They'd both probably look better painted, something I plan to do here pretty soon.
