Flint Vanadium

I've been accumulating and rebabbing old kitchen cutlery for a minute now, and Flint has become my favorite brand. I've added several to my active duty roster in the kitchen but have more than I can use. Anybody else ever end up with more knives than space or uses for them? ::shrug::

They're cool to look at though, and Vanadium might be my favorite word. I like the various wood grains and handle shapes. Cooking competition shows and celebrity chef's have taught a generation of home cooks that all you need is a nice chef's knife for everything. True or not, knives of every other shape and design are being relegated to the donate bin in record numbers. I didn't even recognize some of these blade shapes or intended purposes until I set about in the hobby. Its fun to rediscover history, even if it's quite recent.

The spacing on the letters was tough to get right, I'd say it's ok. Looks fine from across the room. The base is a repurposed wall calendar and decorative plate display. The knives are held onto each shelf with a magnet near the tip. The letters are 1/2 inch stainless steel for making jewelry. Those were bought online, everything else came from the thrift store. Total cost is about 8 dollars.

All I can say is , yep, a large and a small chefs knife are all ya need for any culinary work. tho, a good paring knife is a plus. I love using the chef knife, the one I use most is a HENKLES, i LOVE IT EVEN OVER MY CUSTOM MADE CHEFS KNIVES WHICH ARE WAY MORE TO LOOK AT and plenty functional.
