All About Pocket Knives

This month tongueriver (Calvin), a repeat donor to the monthly knife giveaway having previously given away a Northfield moose with red wine jigged bone handles in March 2021, has now decided to part ways with his duplicate Schrade 7-OT 75th Anniversary (1979) knife with the original box.

The 75th anniversary etching on the blade means it was issued in 1979 (Schrade started in 1904), the same year that the first LB7's and the woodgrain boxes were used. This knife was launched as the carbon alternative to the stainless LB-7 but the LB-7 turned out to be a better seller and Schrade stopped offering 7-OT in 1981. Schrade brought it back again in 1990 but by 1995 they switched to using stainless for 7-OT and that's what was produced to the end. After 1995 the only difference between LB-7 and 7-OT was the handle when originally it was about the blade steel.

The unused and factory sharp knife comes with its original box and sheath.

The knife Gods have spoken and his pick of 374 was 39 away from the winning lottery number of 413 but the closest without going over making GSPTOPDOG the winner of that beautiful Schrade 7-OT 75th Anniversary knife with the original box that Cal kindly donated. I mentioned in my PM to claim the prize that this win can't replace all of the knives that GSPTOPDOG recently lost but hopefully it can provide some healing.
