All About Pocket Knives

Can anyone tell me what color bone handle this knife would be considered? Green Bone?

Technically “greenbone” originated with collectors as a description for the color of bone on old Case Tested knives, so there’s that. Sellers on eBay bastardized the term to apply to just about anything closely resembling it (or not). So you can call it that if you want and most will know what you mean.

Not sure who made that knife but it wasn’t Miller Bros, which went out of business in 1926. Frost Cutlery currently owns the rights to the Miller Brothers trade name so it is a likely source. (The knife was not made in 1938 either BTW, but you probably already know that).

That's a distinct jig pattern. I have an E.Dirlam, Solingen with a very similar patter. Is there no country of origin mark anywhere? J.O'.

Those were a Parker creation. Made in Germany by Olbertz.

Look at the jigging, darn close to yours. Maybe a German bone outfit like Rogers. ?? J.O'.

Yes; 1990's era, high quality and made by Olbertz. Parker imported large quantities of this pattern in bone, stag, and pearl, and with a number of different vintage tang stampes and blade etches.

Not an original Miller Bros., but still another sweet Olbertz Anglo-Saxon Whittler.
