My wife Joy has been experiencing some unusual stomach pain for around a month. We went to our doctor and they sent her to the local hospital for a CT scan. The scan showed several issues that were questionable in the pancreas and a stone in the gall bladder. She was then referred to the digestive disease center where we have both been patients in the past. That appointment led to the up coming procedure tomorrow morning, July 25th. The special doctor doing the endoscopy is able to check the inside of the pancreas to determine what is causing the discomfort.
Anytime we hear pancreas, we think of pancreatic cancer and of course there are other issues that aren't as critical.
Please pray with us that the Lord will guide the doctor to find the answer and provide relief from the intermittent pain.

Lord, I thank you for Phillip and Miss Joy and the blessing they are to the people around them. I lift up Miss Joy to you and ask for your healing touch on her body that she might recover fully and quickly from this problem that seems to be in her pancreas. What ever it is Lord I know You can heal it. As you calmed the raging sea I know You can calm a cranky pancreas. Wheather by miraculous means or by the efforts of the doctors, we ask that you would bring healing to Miss Joy's body. We also ask that You would bring peace and great faith to Phillip, Miss Joy and their family.
We thank you for your great faithfulness to us.

We thank y'all for the prayers on behalf of Miss Joy.

Please continue to remember her as we did not get good news today.
The endocrinologist confirmed the area of concern in the pancreas is a 28 mm by 24 mm mass that is highly suspicious for adenocarcinoma. Final results of biopsy will be available in a couple of weeks.
We will then learn what procedures are suggested if the cancer is confirmed.
I feel at this time Joy is more at peace with the issue than the rest of the family.
Our desire would be for God to remove the mass but we don't know the will of God. We lean on Him for stregth and will praise Him what ever comes our way.

So sorry to hear this Phil. It's comforting to know Joy is somewhat at peace with this. With Jane's recent cancer, she was taking it well and I was a mess. My Dad died as a result of the cancer in the same place as Jane did. We serve a God of miracles who doesn't make mistakes, but sometimes leads us down difficult paths while still pouring out blessings. I've been praying hard for different results from yesterday's test, but will keep praying Joy is healed and as will my church family and Men's Bible study group. ____Dave

We got the suspected/dreaded conformation this morning that Miss Joy has pancreatic cancer.
Continued prayers will be much appreciated.
The Digestive Disease Center has contacted an oncologist and we will see him sometime next week. Joy feels at his time the normal treatments, chemo, radiation and probable surgery are not something she wants to do. We will listen to the cancer doctor but she has made it clear she'll not submit to those treatments. We've been made aware of a promising "off label" use of a veterinary medicine to fight the cancer. Our family doctor said he would help any way he could. Made us feel good that he recognizes there may be other avenues of treatment not approved by the govt. etc...
I'll not share the name of the vet.med for various reasons but if you're interested google the name Joe Tippens.
Bottom line is, survival rate for pancreatic cancer victims is very low, my wife told the doctor that did the endoscopy when he said he was pretty sure it was cancer, "I've had a good 80 year run, I'm ready to go." All she wants is to be comfortable and if the "off label" vet med works it'll be a blessing and if it doesn't she's ready for her Heavenly home.
