All About Pocket Knives

Picked this up from a flea market it had two blades the second blade is broken at the tang .Trying to identify this knife maker. But the only company I can find was j p ward but it doesn’t look like any of their stamps that I have seen. Any help would be appreciated

Haven't seen any reference to JP Ward, only J Ward & Co

The J.P. looks fairly clear, and Bronxville, New York.
But I am hard pressed seeing "Ward" as that last bit after JP...

Let see what the group comes up with.

Had more luck with the "Fury 10294" stamp you show at the end, but its a clear Japanese mark making this even more intriguing.
There's a blade swap at some time in this ones history.
Some example below, 1st is your pic flipped right side up, then 2 other references for J Ward & Co and Fury

OK, this is an interesting read in any case , a knife presented to Lincoln by J Ward.
But I see a reference to James P Swain who built the factory, and "Swain" just about fits your tang stamp (J.P. Swain ??)

I'm on a roll ( I guess) and this may be a wild goose chase still, but now we have a knife maker in the Swain family lineage. If identified as Swain this might be a cool old piece you have.

Anyway, speculation still but we have JP and a knife maker in Bronxville so far.
And don't forget the relationship between Swain and J Ward from above too, coincidence?? Hmmm

I had only used the fury Bali song to hold up the knife in question.
Furthermore when I was doing research I had came across the swain name but dismissed it as I couldn’t find any photos of a knife he had made.

The OP was actually asking about JP WARD, I took a shot at Swain, but its really cool to see yourself and others coming back with confirmations. Thats great!

AH, that makes more sense, I see it now. Was curious why the odd config and wings.

I may have occupied a bit of this thread and made some leaps but this was a good story and had more history to it than it would have seemed.
