Leatherman, love 'em or hate 'em? I carry the Rev I've had the Supertool, PST, and the Micro. Most of the Leatherman's are too big with alot of tools I wouldn't use the Rev is just right for me. ftd

Yep, gotta love em. These are old pictures but a recent thread on here inspired me start carrying this Free T4 again.

Great little tool. Kind of like a SAK on steroids. I find it pretty impressive that it has 6 folding implements and none of them have any play when locked open. It also has tweezers which are not pictured.

I carried a Micra for a good while, I like led the scissors and tweezers. I quit carrying it for a while then my boy got ahold of it lol.

I’ve been looking at upgrading to a model with pliers but I don’t really think I would need them. The wire cutters attached to them might be a different story.

I really like the Arc but dang, that thing is expensive!

I carried a Leatherman for a while at work for a land surveying company. I wanted the pliers for gripping 5/8" rebar. We would drive a piece of rebar in the ground to mark a property corner. Not infrequently it would up in the wrong place and we would need to pull it up and reset it. That is what I used the pliers for. At some point I realized that I was almost never using any tool on the Leatherman other than the pliers. So I switched to 4" Visegrips. They worked better as pliers and weighted less than the Leatherman.
I kept the Leatherman in my tacklebox for years and when I was kayaking it went into my survival bag. And it almost never got used. A pocket knife is better as a knife, and a mini Visegrip is better as pliers, and I almost never need any of the other tools when I am outdoors.

I have had my Leatherman since about 1990 and I love it. It has been to probably fifteen states with me on work trips or vacation. It just has not been used a lot.
