What does a serial number of OOO mean?

I have a Wolverine Knife Collectors Club Schatt & Morgan swing guard, from 2000. It has the club’s logo, and “1 of 70” stamped or deeply etched into the blade (as well as other things like it’s year and the name of the club). But the serial number is 000. What does that mean? I figure the first serial number would be 001. Is it sort of a test knife? Or a reject? I don’t see anything wrong with it besides a little scrapping on the jigged bone on one side that looks like it was done after manufacture.

Probably a sample knife of some kind sent to them for approval. May also have been an extra.

Still getting used to this, but to answer bestgear, the serial number is on a bolster.

Not sure why yours has “000” and the image from Worthpoint has a plain bolster - I think we have some Wolverine Club members here, maybe they’ll know.

Tom it was probably a factory sample knife, either for use in the factory or sent to the club as a sample piece for approval before the run was started.
