Okay guys I’m not saying this is fake in any way shape or form. I am asking if the tang stamp looks good please. This is just for my own knowledge. I’m just curious because of the T’s looking more like 7’s.
Thank you

I don't really like to assess a knife on stamps alone. I would much rather see the whole knife to determine if the knife is good. Given the two pictures provided I would say no but not just because of the stamps but rather because of what else can be seen in the pictures. It is very unusual to see both blades stamped the same on a tested knife unless it is a folding hunter. Both blades look to have little to no kick on the tangs. Photos are pretty grainy but the lettering in the stamps look wonky at best.
Judging from the pictures provided, bolster and blade grinds I would guess this might be 31 pattern electrician's knife. I don't know that Case ever stamped both blades on the tested version of this knife. Steve would probably know the answer to that.

I agree with Wayne, need the whole knife to do a full assesment.
However, to me the stamps look good - I believe that Wayne is on the right track - an electrician's knife - but the other pattern - the 1212L, which was also made for the military as the early Signal Corps knife, forerunner to the TL-29.

Yeah, I should have known to put a full picture of the knife. Rookie mistake. And, yes you are correct it is an electrician knife. Thank you for your help

Yes, that looks a lot better and makes sense now. Looks like the master tip has been slightly reshaped and is just a tad short but otherwise looks good. M.H. Coles book shows the exact Signal Corps knife with both blades stamped.
