I think there's something wrong with the main blade. I have never seen any KA-BAR with a crude long pull like that. Looks like what you'd see with a welded on blade.

Long pulls are way more scarce than regular crescent nail pulls on Kabar Gunboats. Nothing is wrong with it, mine is only one I have seen so far that the pull goes through tang. But I have seen only one other example so far of a long pull gunboat. Not my knife just showing for example.

Think what you like. That pull is not factory, it is not straight or even of width. It is not an early knife with that shield and whole knife has been buffed. You may like it, I say it has a problem. One always has to wonder when a knife has a long pull into the tang well after such pulls were common.
