I bought this knife at the flea market Sunday. I thought it was a 72 Camillus until I got home and looked at the tang stamp and it was an Imperial. It sure looks like a 72

One of the prolific number of 72 clones. There’s an entire thread about them here somewhere. It’s known as a Camillus pattern (they called the pattern a “whittlers knife”, not a “whittler”). Not sure if a Camillus, or someone else originated it, but many have copied versions of it.

Edit: looks like Skip found the thread.

That is a good knife. Imperial's steel and hear treatment were great.

A very knice example. Boy scouts model 1047 if I remember right. The regular one is model 63. Enjoy it, a great little knife.

A.....
An Imperial Scout, Camillus "72" lookalike, has no pattern #.
An Imperial Scout, Camillus "72" lookalike, has a "Gold" Federal Shield & a "Silver" Federal Shield.
A Camillus Scout, Camillus "72" lookalike, is a "1047"
An Ulster, Camillus "72" lookalike, is a "63"

Thanks Skip, for the correction. Information off the top of my head is always questionable. Thanks again.
