Prayers for Mom following a stroke

I am writing this from a hospital waiting room.
My mother, Ruth Kirby, suffered a stroke yesterday morning. It was a blood clot in the back of her neck, and has caused dizziness, balance problems, pain, and terrible nausea.
They have been successful in dissolving the clot with blood thinners, and she began showing a lot of improvement this morning, but has had some setbacks near noon as her brain has begun swelling. She is able to speak and think coherently, but remains in terrible pain.
She is a wonderful, Godly woman who has always sacrificed for her family. And I know that there will come a time when she will leave this earth, whether now or later. I ask you to pray with me that He will either bring healing from this, or that He will take her peacefully. I love her dearly, but I trust God completely.
Thank you.

I am sorry to hear of your troubles Rev. I am there with you in spirit my friend. I will ask the father for strength and comfort for you and your family. You're a pillar, good sir, built on a solid foundation. Your family couldn't have a better one to lean on in this hour of need

I am praying for you Scott, your Mother and your family. May the Lord grant your Mother quick healing, His peace and good health until He calls her home. I pray for peace for you and your family also.

Praying the Lord will be merciful to your mother.
We can tell y'all have a handle on this as she is a believer but when it's mom it is tough.
Physical healing for Miss Ruth is our prayer.
When we face critical issues like this, I'm reminded of the song, "I'm a winner either way, if I go or if I stay." The lyrics speak volumes of comfort to believers!

Thank you all for praying with us.
We have been up and down all weekend, as Mom has improved and then faced setbacks, back and forth. Right now she is stable, they have medicines that are helping with swelling in her brain, and hopefully she can begin healing from the injury soon.
The pain has eased enough tonight that she recovered some of her sense of humor, which helped us all quite a lot. Our family is remaining strong in faith and love, and right now in hope, as well.
Thank you again.

"Lord Jesus, thank You that our hope for healing is in You. May the doctors and treatments be guided by Your mighty hand. I ask for wisdom and discernment be granted to all concerned with the care and treatments for Ruth Kirby. God, I thank You that Ruth is one of Your children and that You're in control of everything. May You be honored and glorified in all things under Heaven, in the Holy name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Update: Mom has been moved out of ICU, and is awaiting a bed at a Rehab facility. It is among the best in the area, and we are hoping that she can regain the strength to walk again and have some independence.
Her left side is weak, and she is voluntarily using her left hand for everything that she can, trying to build up strength and coordination.
It has been rough, but she is a fighter. Thank you for your prayers.

Thanks for the update and praise GOD for the good news. I remember my grandfather having a stroke in the late 1970’s and my dad gave him one of my foam balls to squeeze. He used it all the time and it seemed to help with hand strength.

Praise report:
Mom came home on Thursday!
I have been very busy and failed to post an update until today.
She had spent 1.5 weeks in Neuro ICU, 2 weeks in a Rehab Hospital, and 3 weeks in-patient rehab in a Nursing Home.
She can walk and take care of herself, though she tries to use her walker most of the time. She is also receiving Phys Therapy and Occupational Therapy a few days a week at home. Their goal is to have her off the walker in a week or two.
She has lost her sense of taste & smell, and is a bit weaker on her left side, and still struggles with her balance, but she is working so hard to recover.
Her stroke was in her cerebellum. 60% of people with this type of stroke die because it is often misdiagnosed. Symptoms are usually dizziness, nausea, and weakness.
God has been good to us. She does well, and my Dad is doing better now that she is home. (He had really struggled in having to be separated from her.)
Thank you all for praying!

I'm happy for you and your family buddy. The power of prayer is palpable. Your mother is a tough old bird, it's very inspiring to read she's recovering.
