Need input on this Remington

Posting to see what everyone thinks about this one. Could it possibly be altered or not a true Remington? It has been cleaned, no model number (maybe due to the cleaning). Pocket worn bone handles. I’ve searched through all my knife books to no avail with any with bone handles exactly like it. Appreciate your thoughts….Thanks Roger

I’m thinking it been re-bladed. The blades look unused in a a worn frame. They did a nice job. There should be a model number and the blades are too good to have that worn off. The second blade should also be marked Remington.
Looks like a good one to carry and use. Just one fellows opinion .

I have never seen a Remington with that blade configuration.

Look how close that spear blade sits to the end of the spring when closed. That seems too close..I agree with the other comments

Obvious a very worn frame and bone with new fake blades .
Bone looks like NYK or Schrade to me .
Made to deceive IMO .

One thing to remember about old Remingtons is that they all didn't have a pattern number. There was specials like HTT knives, also inked on numbers that could be long gone.

Maybe an R163 that's had the pen replaced with that longer spey/spear thing. The main has maybe been cleaned up. Not buffed but possibly hand sanded. That's my best semi-educated guess ::shrug::

Thanks everyone, pretty much what I was thinking, just didn’t look right to me. Also after looking better at it the spear blade hits the end of the knife when closed, they had a piece of wood down in the well I’m thinking from keeping it from hitting so hard when closed.
I sell on the bay and wanted to make sure before listing it, I’ll just put this one in my pocket rotation, thanks again everyone much appreciated, Roger
