All About Pocket Knives

Hello, found this recently and assumed that it was a case factory 2nd seeing how the tang stamp is ground and showing USA and a faint number 3 above that Which seems to be the last number. (cant make out the others) Thing is i cannot find this style anywhere from case? What you think?

The knife is a Kabar factory second. That pattern was discontinued by about 1972, so it is late 60's til '72.
