Not So Simple Upgrades

The best part about obtaining $10.00 knives from brands like Tac-Force or Wartech is that they are easy to upgrade....or so I thought. I have a whole new appreciation for the skills of those who make folders or fixed blades with scales, or value-add them like David Yellow Horse or Michael Prater. To make the knife look as good as or better (the goal) than the original out-of-box is not as easy as it looks.
I love tinkering in my wood forge, so I thought I would start off with some "cheapies". It hurts less when I mess up a $10.00 knife instead of a $60.00 one.
This is my Tac-Force Black Speedster Persian style folder refitted with Osage Orange wood scales. The original scales were black plastic.
This is my Duck brand German Stilleto sporting brushed brass bolsters with Padauk scales.
And last but not least, this is my Tac-Force White Speedster Persian style folder dressed out in African Wenge wood. It's original scales were white plastic.
