All About Pocket Knives

It was my understanding that the C2 that was produced in 1993-1994 was Delrin. But, I have one, and although I am no where near an expert on this issue, it certainly appears to me to be bone.....light penetrates just like bone and it has the same feel of the bone that I have in a '60s version of a #69 that I have. Were any of the early C2s produced using bone instead of Delrin? Do you know of any other means of distinguishing between bone and Delrin that are not destructive?

Thanks.. I just ordered the microscope from Amazon.....its now almaost $8.00. It is probably Delrin.

It doesn't take much magnification to see the Haversian canals in bone. Once you've learned what to look for you can often see them with the naked eye. You can also take a clear in-focus picture and blow it up a little - serves the same purpose as a magnifying glass.

No, this entire series C1-C6 was produced of Delrin.

I appreciate everyone's input on this. I got in the little microscope today and I totally understand now as I have compared several and see the difference.
