All About Pocket Knives

I have been collecting and writing about knives since 1973 and I bought my first knife on my own. My primary focus has mostly been knives from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Not long ago I saw a post here about Geo Felton Scranton PA. Knife. I’d never heard of them in all my years. I love digging into knife history and decided to find out more about this stamp. I found a really ruff example on eBay and just got it. It needs a ton of work but I hope to show all the final result soon. My research took a lot of time and yielded very little. I see that straight razors with this stamp are much more common. Like the razors it appears the knives were made in Germany although not stamped that. I made that determination from the construction of the knife which is indicative of German knives from this time period. It appears that the company was a hardware firm dealing in sporting goods among other items. The company appears to no longer be in business but has a great history. Look at some ephemera I found that helped identify the knife. The knife pictured isn’t mind but fairly close to it I like the CUTLERY GRINDING portion of their advertisements.

Neat information, I grew up knowing only Case(which the family always carried) and Old Timer. Over the years I’ve learned so much but I enjoy seeing these rare old knives and hardware stores name stamps.
