All About Pocket Knives

Welcome to AAPK. It’s great that you have your uncle’s knife and are interested in it. A family heirloom! The resource book I have indicates that tang stamp as being used from 1900-1948.

Not clear what you want to know about it (you’ve requested help identifying it but your thread title identifies it ). Here are some pictures taken from a Robeson catalog reprint. There are other versions of the 105 pattern shown but no 629105 (stainless steel) shown, nor is it in the price list. (Might have been from a different year’s list). Hope that helps.

Many people want to know an exact year of manufacture, but that is rarely possible on older knives. The manufacturers kept the same tang stamp design, and did not mark them with a year or code. They made the knives to be used, and later they seemed surprised that people wanted to collect them.
Case was among the first companies to pick up on this and start the "dot" system of dating back in 1970. With anything before that you are normally able to get it within a range of years - sometimes 20 years or more.
Someone more knowledgeable on Robesons might be able to narrow that date range a little bit, but likely not by much.

Sweet little knife and depending on how much you liked your uncle, it could be priceless.

The “9” in the third position indicates stainless steel and the master blade might have originally been etched, “RUSTLESS-STAINLESS”.

Tom Kalcevic, in his book, Knives Can Talk!” , estimates that stamp 1917 to 1939.

I’ll check my digital photos and see if I have one that would represent that knife in a less well used condition.

I hope you treasure your knife. It has a story and a history.
