I've had this multi-blade knife for many years and always wondered about the stamping on the aluminum covers. I have several knives of this pattern that have tang or blade stamps and are all of French origin. I assumed that Blaw-Knox was as well.
As l was scrolling through the news feed tonight l notice the name next to a picture of a piece of highway paving equipment. Reading further, l discover that Blaw-Knox is a USA company that makes the equipment since 1917. I wonder when they made these and whom they were given to?

I was in the steel fabricating industry for many years. Back in the '70's and '80's Blaw-Knox was one of the largest producers of gratings for flooring in petrochemical plants. As an estimator at the time, I took off a million square feet of grating, most of which was specified to be Blaw-Knox. It wasn't too long (by the 1980's) before quite a few grating manufacturers were in business and Blaw-Knox faded. Apparently Blaw-Know now only manufactures asphalt highway equipment.
