Hi , first post here and have a question. I ordered 2 of the 110 Nickle S30 knives this week and they came fast, great. However, both knives to me hsve different issues. Pics posted, is this common and I just work on them ? The first knife has a burnt tip on both sides of the blade and the 2nd knife has a splintered handle where one of the pins is located. Thinking I am sending these back. Comments appreciated

Absolutely return them. This is not Buck’s standard and they will want to see those.
Those Nickel Silver Drop Point models are very nice and you deserve better knives.

Thanks all, emailed Buck , re-boxed and shipping back Monday. Thats what I was thinking as well , these are really nice otherwise.
I have the 420 version and its great. This was a purchase for a buddy and myself. Crazy both had issues.

That "buddy" was me and I'm disappointed as well.
BTW I've known the OP for years and he is solid. I know he will fit in well here.

That certainly is pretty crazy. What were the chances of both knives having significant flaws. And being only available on the Buck website, it’s not as if some dealer or middleman got their hands on them and messed them up. Factory flaws for sure.

I did want to follow up that BUCK did replace one of the knives pretty quick and it's great, I went ahead and returned the other one. I know they do a lot of production but still would be nice to have that human double check before it leaves.

It looks like QA/QC is slipping at Buck.
I purchased a Buck Limited Edition 503 Prince. It festures Mammoth Ivory and Tooth, polished 420 HC steel, nickle bolsters and was apparently crafted by a single craftsman, Dan Peretti, who has been with Buck since 1976.
There was a gap between the ivory and the knife, as if the ivory had not been flattened. What bugged me was this gap was filled with what appeared to be black polishing compound, and rather than reject the knife or rescale it at the factory, it came to me, the customer. This was not a cheap knife either.
Anyway, because it was a sold out limited edition, I kept the knife because I was afraid it would not be replaced, and after my son's year long issue with Buck losing his warranty knife (BOTM), I felt best to limit my exposure.
I hope Buck takes care of you.
