I believe our prayers are in order for all the folks in Southern California and the devastating fires.
So much has already been lost and lives have been changed forever. I think we have a few AAPK
members in California, I just pray they are all safe at this time.

I was just in touch with Mike, XX Case XX.
He's not too far south and east of LA.
So far, safe and sound.

People’s safety is of utmost importance. I was also wondering how many knife collections will be lost?

The California fires were brought up last evening as a matter of prayer in the church we attend, added to the long list of disasters that we so easily forget if it's not in our own back yard.

We had a special prayer for the fire victims last night. You're right Treefarmer if it doesn't touch us we tend to put it out of our minds quickly.

What an unimaginable mess. Almost biblical! Send your prayers and your money if possible. It's not just the wealthy who are suffering. J.O'.

Damage is still occuring from the fires back in September 2024! We've barely had any rain, and if we get a drenching, all these burned soils will be washing away.

So Cal is a mess in more ways than one can fathom. I'd like to think the current disaster will result in changes, but I've thought that in the past only to see more crazy things done in this state.

Jeepergeo, the California fires were a topic discussed this morning before church started. A firefighter in our group said that California rules will not allow fire trucks from outside the state to help fight the fires because of emissions from their trucks don't meet California standards.

Thank you for thinking about us. California has gotten very whacky, but I had not heard that about fire trucks, though it would not surprise me ar all. This summer I did see a fire crew from Reno NV working in the Bishop CA area...a nice bunch of guys on the crew.

I think there's some mistaken stuff on the net as usual, Texas and Oregon are sending equipment and personal to California to fight the fires. I can't say if any others are.
The boss has a cousin that use to go out west every year to fight forest fires.

You are correct, the guy that takes care of my yard is also a Fort Worth Firefighter and is deployed.
God protect him and all fighting the fires.

What I did hear was that some out of state equipment was not being allowed in to CA. because it didn't meet the state emissions standards. Some folks just have a void between their ears.

Found this in an email this morning. Like Ponder, Krum is a small nearby town.
God go with these two men and all others.

We are all reading about his devastation and want to help. There is so much fraud out there. Has anyone researched this and does anyone know of an organization where 100% of the donations go to the victims and not city budgets or buying new municipal vehicles. I'm kind on bummed out on the Red Cross, etc.

Hard to wrap your head around the scale of loss. Fires take homes, but mismanaged aid burns people twice. After the Palisades fire, firms like Oberheiden P.C. got involved to push for real accountability. Maybe it’s time more eyes stayed on where the help actually goes.
