All About Pocket Knives

Hello all. Nothing fancy here but it’s interesting to me. I picked up a 9505 barlow with really cool looking green and yellow sawcut plastic covers. It’s beat up, has pitted carbon steel blades and has a ton of stepping on the back between the springs and brass liners but I loved the color. I started picking up others in this line. 9501, 9502, etc. They were made by Camillus in the 90s I think? Some that I’ve picked up seem to have stainless steel blades. What is the actual history on this run of knives? Any information is greatly appreciated.

IIRC Camillus started making Remington Bullet Knives with stainless blades in 1983. The green & yellow Camillus/Remingtons I own have Camillus' standard 1095 carbon blades. My favorite is the 4 1/4" Stockman. Camillus was making the same Stockman as Buck's 307 with stainless blades and with their own brand on them some had 1095 blades and some stainless. There is a lot of information on Camillus/Remingtons in the Camillus sub-forum. This sub-forum focuses more on the knives actually made by Remington pre-WW II.

I like that series because they used steel pivot pins instead of nickel silver. Seems to me to make the knife stronger.
