All About Pocket Knives

I recently fished this cool "E. Niebergall" large jack off the bay, thinking I would be able to research it and find out where it was made and, perhaps, when it was made. But, so far, I have found absolutely nothing about E. Niebergall in any of my reference books, including Goins and J. Anthony Carter's 655 page book on German knives. Any information or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Attached are some pictures. There are no markings on the pile side of either blade.

Nice knife Herb. Other than the name, how do you know it's German? Maybe a hardware store? Jobber? Looks well made, kind of American looking pattern and shield. J.O'.

Thanks J.O. I don't know if it's German, I was just checking all bases. The "E" and "N" with a crown looking thing in the middle reminds me of the various Rodgers Sheffield stamps with a crown in between two letters.

Great looking knife but I know nothing about the maker. I checked 4th edition Levine and there is nothing there.

Looks turn of the Century American to me.

The pulls are interesting. They kind of curl at the end.

The stamp looks Swedish or Norwegian though. Maybe French or English.

The usage of steel pins nearly always indicates German manufacturing.

Love everything about that one Herb. And such good shape. Clear stamps.
