One of a kinds and Mongrels

I have this Vintage Imperial Congress and I dont see much about them on any forums or google for that matter. I was speaking with Kerry (Tomanyknives) and he has a Schrade Walden with a pen as a master instead of a clip that all the books says it should have. Kerry suggested starting a thread about one of kinds and Mongrels. So I did!
Kerry will post some of his as well.

Here's the Schrade Walden I mentioned, Kev. I've never been able to find another like it.

I guess my single blade 6235 1/2 would qualify as a mongrel. I took apart a two blade knife with a broken back spring on the secondary blade and turned it into a single blade..

Here's another one of those that falls into the "I've never seen another one" category. It's a Faweso German knife. The maker was mainly a razor maker. Franz Weyland and Son. Great little knife.

Probably not a one of a kind but I'll throw it in anyway. KAY Brothers, sons of George Kay, English immigrant to America pre-Civil War, inventor of the "Hobo" knife ,popular in the war. Had a long conversation with LT of lt632retd a couple years ago about the Kay family and their knife making and the Civil War era. Only one I've ever seen in 45 years of the hobby. If anyone has one I'd like to see it. J.O'.

How about this MOP 8 blade Congress. Made by MFRS Union Co. 1887-1888. I paid a dollar for it even though 4 of the 8 blades are broken because it was so odd.

OC; That's a relic! Here's a possibly, home-made cigar box knife with the little swing hammer and a nail prier. No marks. Walnut handle. Pretty old. J.O'.

I doubt anyone else has one like my Queen Improved Muskrat with an eyeglasses screwdriver blade. I actually use this tool quite a bit because my eyeglasses are old and I keep buying knives instead of getting new ones! (Gotta have your priorities straight!)

Posted this before but it should go here. $1 at a yard sale in Ocean City. MD. Seller said it was dug up locally. Can't tell if the blade and hannle were forged from one piece of rod stock or made separately and hammer welded. I'm no thrower but I did put it through a cardboard box side from about 12 feet. J.O'
