All About Pocket Knives

Guys,
I picked up a pair of really old daggers this past weekend. I'll post some photos. I'm, guessing these knives are from the middle east and likely, quite old. The first one is plain and has a wooden sheath. The second one has some intricate engraving on both sides of the blade. I couldn't make much out of the engravings but towards the tip is a mean looking dog chasing a mean looking boar. I think it will be hard to make out in the photos.
I'd be interested to learn what anyone thinks about either of these.
Sure will appreciate any thoughts.

your embelished one looks like it may have been guilded too, that would be a cool curiosity if real.

There is a little bit of gold left there, isn't there. I was thinking, or hoping, someone would come up with some idea, or ideas, as to age and origin and then insist on buying them for about a thousand dollars.

Not a subject matter expert, but I think the second one looks more European or maybe...Roman?

And the wood sheath looks like southeast Asian. But i haven't seen alot from the middle east to compare to, so those are mildly educated guesses.

The wood type will likely be the best origin clue, unless someone recognizes the embellishments on it. I am not a wood guy, but maybe someone would recognize the grain with a magnified picture.

At least, I don't think they are part of the quesene there. Did I spell quesene correctly? My spell-checker went kinda crazy.

Well, there is, in the Bible, the story where Jesus cast out a bunch of demons into a herd of swine, so there were pigs there at one point in time.
