Here's a couple of pics of my current project. It is a Trapper kit from Woodcraft, my first 2-blade build. I am putting Sapele scales on it. They are fit to length and glued in and clamped at this stage.

I have considered one of these kits but I donβt think I have the proper tools.
Anxiously awaiting your finished pictures.

Canβt wait to see those wooden scales done. They are beautiful as they are and will only look better after all the sanding and polishing.
Welcome to AAPK!

first sanding session and the back of the knife is ready for hand work. the top will be next, then the tricky work on the sides. I use a Black & Decker belt sander with 120 grit for these sessions.

This is coming along nicely, can't wait to see the finished product! If you are not aware, there is an entire section of the forum dedicated to modding and repairing knives. You should post your threads in there, so people can find your work easier. See link below...

Here is the knife after final power sanding, hand sanding with 220, 400, and 1000. Scales are lightly oiled with mineral oil at this point. A waterproof finish of mink oil will be applied later.
how do I move this thread to the 'makers' forum?

I think you would just make another post, a duplicate one, in that thread.
