I had so much fun making that TL-29 conversion for the AAPK auction, that I did another one....I just have to find me some more of the wood that I've been using. It's got great lines.

VERY nice. I love the shield, love the pins too. How did you get them so nice and perfect?

Thanks guys....here's a better shot of the file work.
Forensic Jim - I've been calling it the filework "random rope".....I don't actually mark out the intervals, just eyeball it as I go along.
For the shield, I sand off the face of the quarter, draw what I think I like, lightly tap "guidance" dots with a carbide scribe, then file it away. Touch it up by eyeball with a sanding drum in a dremel. Just keep going until I think it looks balanced.
Kaleb - thanks, the EZE opener is one of my favorites and I think I'm going to make all my electricians into EZE patterns.
Darksev - Regarding the pins, I peen them a bit, then hit them with my version of a pin spinner....then buff out the marks from the spinner. Still need to work on the spinning a bit, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. Took Orvet's advice and just LOTS of little taps with a light hammer.
I'm finally being able to spend a bit more time in the shop, and I'm having tons of fun.
