All About Pocket Knives

My dad's friend gave me a knife from his brother's collection, and recently the bolster came loose, and it cuts my hand when I use it. How could I fix this? Should I superglue it or something? or should I take it somewhere to get it fixed? Any way to fix it would be fantastic, it's a great knife! Thanks yall!

The knife has to be disassembled to repair. But Bear and Sons has a lifetime warranty. Why not let the do it? Here’s the link.

On some B&S knives I have worked on, they glued on the bolsters...

I do have one follow-up question, though, will it be free? I'm not the original owner of the knife, and I'm not sure if it's registered in my dad's friend's brother's name or not. Should I send it in under his name just to be sure? Or will they fix it anyways? How would I go about proving I am the "original owner" if I don't have the receipt to verify? How much would it cost if I cannot prove my ownership? All questions to consider. Thanks again!

Hahahaha nothing more than a temporary fix, must be a nightmare to get off of there.

I know, right? I had one apart to re-handle, and the bolster just fell right off, and you could see the layer of glue...

I don't know if they were all made like that, but that one was.

Glued on bolsters is pretty disappointing. I mean c’mon man.

Soldered bolsters are pretty common but glued on just seems like a really cheap shot.

Do they still drive the pivot pin through the bolsters or is it installed under the bolsters?
