Around 40 yeas ago i attended a large firearms show and this man had a large table of knives, i noticed he had two of the Randall ones that were highly sought after during the Vietnam War.

I noticed these two knives and we discussed these knives and the price's he was asking, this was a Saturday the last day was Sunday, i returned Sunday and again we discussed prices he said if you want both knives i will take $250 cash for them both i pulled out my billfold and handed him the $250.

While working selling knives at a local sporting goods store i would some times show peope pictures of my Randall's and i many time received some good offers for them.

Today if you order any Randall knives you have around a five year+ wait, you have to find a dealer who has the Randall you want and expect to pay his price.

Good job! You basically paid about 10% of what you would pay today, regardless of source or time frame. That beats inflation, I think.

During the early 1980s the knife store in a large shopping mall in an affluent city kept a display of new Randals priced $125 - $150 so $125 for one without stag and showing some use was not a screaming bargain. I bought three new. A few years later I was able to sell the two that were still new in box back to the store for what I'd paid. The one I used hunting I took a loss on selling at a gun show. In hind sight ... Well we all have great hind sight but that ignores the fact that my rent had to be paid.

There are two 8" #2 daggers and two 7.5" #14 Attack knives in the AAPK store. Over the last few weeks another 8" #2 dagger and two 7.5" #14 Attack knives were sold through the AAPK store. The problem is not finding them. It is paying for them. After their stratospheric price rise a smart investor might dump them. Howerver, Randal fighting knives are cool diplay knives.
