I had an idea hit me. A series of pocket knives, maybe six or seven in all. I am only a regular joe with no knife background except for collecting knives I like. But I have a neat idea and can't figure out how to relay it without getting my idea stolen from me. Any ideas?

I guess I’m confused, Like a Limited custom production like the Schrade wildlife or scrimshaw series? A written article series, or YouTube video series? Something that highlights a particular pattern or brand of knife or just work knives vs auto vs fixed blade ect?

Might have to get a patent?

You’ve described the dilemma faced by most inventors or others having a good idea. Best to thoroughly describe and document your idea, in writing, with dates and proof (maybe notarized?). Then approach a manufacturer with it. Not sure what getting a patent entails but you can investigate that as well. JMO. I’m not an attorney nor do I play one on TV, so my advice is worth what you paid for it!

Well, my idea was for a series of pocket knives with a certain design on the handles. Series of about six or seven knives, each one with a different design. The idea just popped in my head after watching something on TV and my mind started designing each knife right where I sat. I know they'd probably be a fairly decent series in popularity, but getting them to come to life is a whole different story.

If it’s Yellowstone I’ve already seen the brand emblem in some knives. Ifs a tv series you would have to have licensing to use anything then get a company agree to make them.

Ive designed a few fixed blade knives and taken them to a knife maker up the road from me. he makes em. One . a fixed blade look alike of a moki \kronos has sold several copies. . I didnt do it for the money and I dont care if anybody else likes em/
. But its just an idea to get a proto type whipped out?? Its hard to get a maker, say, GEC to work with ya. Ive tried.

I would do what Ken said. Approach GEC or Case?

I have approached Case previously. They said they got
the letter. Nothing since. Has to be at least 5 years now.

Good luck!
