All About Pocket Knives

I've recently became a peanut fan, and these Satin Rose's have grown on me. There is no information about what patterns SR was available in. I've seen a couple on eBay but would like to see any examples you fine people can provide.

Well, I know there is an SR6225 1/2 Small Swell Center Jack (small Coke Bottle), an SR64347 1/2 Stockman, a Large SR6254 Trapper, a Large SR6488 Congress, an SR6380 Carpenter's Whittler, a small 6244 Stockman, and an even smaller SR62027 Jack, and maybe others.
Here are pictures of some of those.

According to Steve Pfeiffer, who has forgotten more than I will ever know, the Satin Rose was offered in five patterns. They are the SR6220, the SR6225 1/2, the SR62027, the SR6244, and the SR 6347 1/2.

Not listed are the SR6288 and the SR6380 as shown above. But I think those two were limited to the National Knife Collectors Museum Dedication knives issued in 1981. The Large Trapper would appear to be limited to the Alabama Gun Collectors Club knife.

By the way, be careful. The Satin Rose dye often "bleeds" onto a polishing cloth and even will leave its mark on felt in a knife display.

Wow! Those are some beautiful knives! I especially like the swell center!

I never heard of these SR editions before so great question leatmucusplugs. Welcome to the AAPK!

Yes Sir, I am a Tadpole Fan! I just don't own any of them. I gave up trying to find one of them over here. Or any other nice knives for that matter. I just check the Bay once in a while to see if I run across anything nice in my price range. Once in a while I get lucky.

Just admiring these Satin Rose knives. They are an eye catcher for sure!

Here's a 10-dot, "Lightning", SR6347-1/2, I bought new. I'm pretty sure it was redder when new and has faded, especially the pile side. At the time I thought it was called,"Cherry". Duh! ?? J.O'.

Also not listed is the SR6185 Dr Knife. I had one but I don't remember what year it was. Here's a picture that I clipped from another member's post from 2018
BTW--According to this chart and the AAPK research section on Case handle materials SR stands for Smooth Rose

I only have one. A peanut.

I have a SR6244. I agree that it is becoming lighter in color but it
is still a great piece.

I did not know Case made that many SR's. Something to hunt for since
I love the colors.
