Since Im rich and turning a profit isn't the goal.....

I'd buy the rights to Colonial. My favorite old knife. I'd bring manufacturing back to the states and hire people off this forum to be my cutlers. We'd bang out quality American made knives and put all of China out of business....right?

No sense putting 100% down on any single investment.

I'd finance a controlling stake in Buck, and then split the rest to buy controlling stakes in several smaller companies like Anza, Koi, and Moore Maker.

Not a bad strategy. Wishing can be fun. BTW, Moore Maker is a hardware store. They sell somebody's knives, too. Used to be Queen. Now I think Bear and Son and maybe others?

Yes, Moore Make owns patterns and then has various makers make the knives under contract. Bears & Sons is one of them, but my understanding is there are others. I have been pretty happy with the knives I purchased from MM, and their customer service is outstanding.

Oh what could be done with Case! Case is one of the best brand names in cutlery history. It doesn’t have to be revived, just returned to its glory days. I’d pay the employees their union wages and benefits, but only for quality workmanship. There would be about 30 more patterns in the product line, offered both in carbon steel and 440C or better. There would be stag, MOP, bone, and modern acrylics, micarta and G10, and the latest innovations in “tacticool” and automatics (now that manufacture of automatics is legal in Pennsylvania). And not being required to make a profit, the knives produced would be priced competitively with fine quality cutlery produced anywhere in the world. Until I went bankrupt, like Parker did.

How’s that for a “pipe dream”!

Very interesting topic and the comments,me I would bring Queen back my favorite into the old factory.I’ve not been to Titusville in a while 2 hours away but I think it’s still there. As for the Moore maker comments my favorite to collect are the Queen 4 1/4 cattle pattern along with case in that size.I’m pretty sure in that size stockman the mooremakers are now made by case.

I would buy Kershaw and keep the current lineup of fine knives they make. But, I would also restart the 10X0 Series of hunting knives and daggers Hattori made for Pete in the beginning. Finding someone to make them as unique as Hattori did would be the challenge.

I believe I'd just wait till member PLMPLM8 got Queen re-established and be one of his favorite customers. Treefarmer

Camillus - get back production in the U.S. producing HIGH quality knives.
