"high price" means different things to different people.

For something different, check out the Koi Magpie EDC. Fit and finish are very good. My only issue is that the pocket clip is not reversible and comes with the tip up, blade to front for the right pocket, which puts the flipper down and facing the rear. My preference is right pocket, tip up, blade facing the rear, flipper down and facing the front. Koi's wonky setup must be because these knives are made south of the equator.

I little more info would be helpful to make any recommendations.

Do you want a folder or a fixed blade? Do you want a locking blade or a slip joint? Do you need stainless steel? How big or small of a knife do you want? Does country of origin matter, etc.

Just a bit more info should result in some suitable recommendations.

I would look at AAPK’s own Corn Creek Cutlery’s RoseCraft Blades inventory here: https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/ca ... eller=7984 and see what appeals to your eye and make a purchase - you can’t go wrong with any of these knives.

My current favorite is the French Broad Jack (RCT007-RW) with RoseWood handles and a Wharncliffe blade - for $55 shipped it’s a home run!

Welcome to AAPK. I agree we don’t have enough information regarding your likes and dislikes. Do you want a traditional pocket knife, or a modern “tacticool” folder. Single or multiple blades, lockback, automatic, or ? I don’t know, or understand, anything about seasonal (“for the summer”) knives. Is that situational, like out of school for the summer, so you can carry a knife. Or is there something fashionable about it? If so an explanation would help.

Browse the AAPK stores and pick something meeting your personal likes, and is within your preferred price range. No one can select or recommend a knife for you, especially knowing so little about your needs and preferences.

I personally carry at least 2 every day (just in my pocket that is....) and one of those is always a swiss army (wengers) or a camp knife. Then something cool/fun, which varies for me, but is always older.

So to answer your question I guess I'd recommend either a Swiss Army Knife or some other knife with some tool options. Again I like older so for me this usually means a Colonial Mountain Guide or something else from their Swiss Master series, or a camp/utility knife. Often a simple Imperial or Colonial. Good steel and cheap enough to not mind if you bang it up. Older but fairly easy to find.

That's my two cents. If you you're looking for something more modern, that's valid too. An expert might stroll through soon....

I like a stainless in the summer just because the amount of sweating I do being out in the heat 8+ hrs per day, and nearly 100° here in the summer. That said the Rose Craft line is great for traditional knife styles and my D2 knives don’t rust as quick as regular 1095. For a slim pocket clipped edc the Kershaw Leek is hard to beat in my opinion and a Swiss Army Hiker for an all around usable knife.

Since during the hot months an emergency could occur my summer knives have bottle openers. Now you know.

I like a Remington utility/camp/scout knife that was made by the original Camillus company. It holds an edge longer than my Victorinox SAK. Most of the Camillus Remington Bullet Knives were kept as collectors' knives so they're still easy to find in like new condition. They were about $50 a few years ago.

I usually carry about three knives, but it’s been so hot here in northern Kentucky that I went to a solitary Wenger Evolution 511 just keep the weight out of my pockets. I try to stay in shorts and sandals this time of year.
