All About Pocket Knives

Just came in a group of knives I bought. BREVETT works a bit like a pullball Schrade. Pull the ring and out she snaps.

"Brevett" is a French word that basically translates to "patent."
Cool little knife. It uses the same release mechanism as the dual blade lobster-pattern gentlemens' knives.
Is it a coil spring powered blade? Most have a coil spring lengthwise in the blade well that opens the blade.

Yes has a coil spring that runs the length of the knife. Tip of the blade appears to purposely dull as that point moves the lock when closing. An interesting build. I’m more familiar with the Schrade pullball. Alway thought the spring and eccentric type tang design to operate blade an ingenious on the Schrade. Simple but took some thinking to come up with that.

George Schrade was a mechanical genius.

Not too recently, this pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. It now becomes my first example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT purchase the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, it did turn out to be a keeper. It did make a VERY nice addition to my "foreign born", pocket knife accumulation. It is a BREVETT 34749, one blade, one tang stamp, 2 3/8" closed (not including the loop or ring), AUTOMATIC style of pocket knife. Pull the loop or ring and the blade snaps opens. The main blade tang stamp reads "BREVETT (over) 34749." One handle side says "RICORDO DI VENEZIA" (MEMORY OF VENICE) and has an image of a gondola and gondolier. The other handle side does NOT say anything, it is blank. This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. Very little cleaning was required. I took some pictures and here it is.
