All About Pocket Knives

I acquired this fixed-blade knife last week. It has a 6.75 inch blade and is 11.25 inches overall length. The scales are checkered horn in very good condition. Just required a little effort and patience to clean the gunk out of the groves. The S-shaped guard is steel. Lund made clocks, corkscrews, fancy boxes amongst other things. They were in business 1820 to 1929. Information provided on another site suggest that the knife was likely made in Germany circa 1880s-WWI for Lund. The sheath is a pretty good fit but may not be the original. It is a very hefty knife and feels quite heavy for its size. Please feel free to add any further information or comments. Thanks s-k

Hi Steve, don't know how I missed this when you first posted it! those grips look very British WW1 army jack knife, are they fixed with steel pins?

steve that is a fantastic knife. looks like it's parabellum. is it sharpened on the top edge as well or just swedged?

Hi guys... Thanks very much for your replies. Zorro it does look very similar to the horn used on British Army knives. I thought it was Sheffield made. I posted it on BRLs forum and, while there was no definitive conclusion, the opinion was German. Johnnie, the top is not sharp just very nicely swedged. s-k
