I did not take "before" pictures, but this knife was once a Utica Electrician's knife.

The front bolsters are steel and were very rusted, and the blade had some light pitting but is otherwise in good condition (which was the only thing that this knife had going for it!). The screwdriver blade was broken. Someone had removed the bale and chipped out the wood near the back of the knife.
After removing the handles the wood appears to be ebony, so I added the bolsters, cut off the broken parts, re-installed the same handles, deleted the screwdriver blade, and ground the whole thing into a teardrop shape.
It still has just enough scars and dings to show it's age, but I am especially happy with how this knife turned out!
I am getting ready to sharpen it and drop it in a pocket!

It is one of a kind now . You did a great job. Who wouldn't want it in their pocket. Carry it with pride (in a good sense). ::tu:: ::nod::

For me, it is because the shape of the handle mimics the shape of the blade, which gives it a balanced symmetry in appearance.

But, the mass of the end bolster makes the blade light in the hand.

That whole ratio is top notch!!!

Rev.,
That is a fine-looking modification or should we call it a "save" since your post didn't read like it was much when you started on it.
Great save and would be a great carry! ::tu::

Thanks everyone!
I have seen one done before...I think it might have been Glennbad? My memory can be terrible.
I keep an EDC pile of knives on my nightstand, but have gone to this one every single day.
I do miss a sharply pointed tip, so if I do another I may add a pen blade to the knife.
