Flea market Remington find

I picked up this Remington today at a local flea market. Looking at the tang stamp I knew was old but when got home it shows 1933-1935. The handles were brown but not bone. I looked on Ebay and other site to fine a similar knife but could no find. I have some knife books so going to try and research , but figured I would ask you guys as well. Look at pics .
I think model shows R673 but the R looks odd so maybe something different. Going to lightly clean the model number to see if I can read better.

I believe that your knife may be a R6673 two blade congress pen knife. It looks to have been re-handled at some time in the past, removing the original bone handles with the black material it currently wears.

I wondered about handle when I got too, but it seems too perfect a fit. Especially to be on a half congress. Looking online I did see some handles around this time that were not bone too. However for $10, I grabbed it up

Nice find - need to get good look at model number - R6673 is 4-blade congress NOT - R673 is dogleg jack NOT - R6143 & R6093 & R6183 AND others are 1/2 congress of course if last number is 3 then bone would be original

I don't think R6673 is out of the question. The knife has quite obviously been worked on and re-handled. Not out of the question that it could have once been a 4 blade knife. Knowing the closed length would help to identify it. Can you get a better picture of the pattern number and try to clean the area up a bit?

I thought of that - since we know the handles have been changed, could make it two blade - seen it done before

My guess is that it might have once been a 4 blade Congress, 2 blades and the bone scales were broken, so the user rehandled it and made it into a 2 blade knife. Just my 2 cents.

I agree - Someone had to many parts - I have a friend that will put 3 knives together and make one (for carry only) here are a few photos from a couple of reference books ????????????????????
