Bulldog Trapper 337 Stag

I might be interested in this knife; did the first generation use this type of stag? It looks a lot different; than then few that I have seen, in this pattern. Thanks.

I don't know anything about Bulldogs, but it appears to be sambar stag.

I'm still trying to tell 1st & 2nd generation Bulldogs apart. The stag on this trapper is not as white as most 2nd & 3rd generation knives I've seen. The yellowish cast seems to point toward a 1st gen., but I would want to hold it and look it over more before committing to anything. At worst, it is a 2nd or 3rd gen which is still a good knife.

Nothing wrong with the stag on that bulldog, pure 1st generation.

You're on track with the First and Second Generation. Think English Steel. A third generation would have 1993 or Surgical Inst. on the tang.
